Audrey Saunder’s modern interpretation and homage to the Burmese club of the same name (circa 1880s) has been a nursery for some of the city’s finest bartending talent during its tenure, several of whom have gone onto open their own joints. Audrey has won a veritable mountain of accolades and awards and deservedly so. The drinks are some of the most creative and wonderfully balanced you’ll find anywhere on the planet and I learnt a helluva lot from her about finding the perfect balance in a cocktail. Come here when the place is not too crazy (read: weekends), as it’s a joyous libation experience on the quieter nights. Getting a drink on Audrey’s menu was not easy but I was very proud of this Serendipity cocktail (although it was ridiculously labor intensive), featured here at their 5th anniversary party.
