Owned by the outrageously talented, white hot design firm, Avroko, the fit out of this place was a sensation when it opened in 2005 and with good reason. To this day it is one of New York’s most beautiful spaces (on Nolita’s Elizabeth Street), chic and industrial yet maintaining a sense of style and comfort. Food is worldly to say the least (and has a Michelin star) and so were our cocktails. I learnt a lot here from our head chef Brad Farmerie who has a wealth of knowledge on many exotic ingredients from the Far East and the Antipodes, many of which were incorporated into some of the drinks. My Chili & Guava Margarita sold like crazy and was still going strong last time I checked.
